Jacksonville, FL to Phoenix, AZ

This is our first time heading west. What is the best route to take from Jacksonville, FL to Phoenix, AZ. Also what attractons would you suggest seeing on the way out. And, give me an alternate route coming home along with attractions. Thanks!!!

RE: Register your roadkill

Hit 6 pt buck with a Honda Accord. Car did not fair well, but we walked away without a scratch. In Florida, deer was considered mine but, I had it donated to a homeless shelter, as I did not want it.

RE: Thanks, South Carolina

SC has alot to offer..from the beaches to mountains. The upstate is my favorite area. Just spent 3 weeks in the area and had a wonderful time. And, I agree, the dogwoods (white & pink) were beautiful.

RE: Deer = 1 - MH = 0

Glad to hear you are okay. MH can be repaired. I killed a 6 pt. buck a few years ago in our Honda Accord. Fortunately, we were okay, but it was just a hassel getting car repaired. Tonight, we were riding country roads near Anderson, SC looking for deer....saw 70 in about 15 miles. They know it is NOT hunting season.

RE: Camping World St. Augustine,FL RV Sales

We also purchased a motorhome from Camping World, St. Augustine location and at this point would not take delivery of another motorhome from Camping World, St. Augustine if they gave it to us. We have had our motorhome back for service twice and it has taken typically 2-3 months to get any repairs done. Each experience has been painfully long. We missed one trip due to their taking so long to repair (cracked passenger side windshield.) I had told them when we needed the coach, (taken in 1-1/2 month prior to next trip) and called several times to follow-up, but obviously it didn't matter. On our last experience, they called saying the coach was ready and after driving 75 miles to pick up the coach nothing had been done. They were suppose to fill the motorhome with gas upon my return. They did fill the tank after I reminded them, I wasn't about to forget that little promise. We ask about a guarantee for work performed and they do not offer any type of guarantee at all, just "their word" that service has been performed correctly. I am sure you can figure out what I think about "their word." Trust them....no way. All I can say, go somewhere else for sales and service.

RE: Soldiers Overseas

Thanks for the information about shipping magazines. We purchased a home where we were left several years of National Geographics magazines. Now I know what to do with them. Thanks!

I vote for the Cuisinart also, for all the reasons Big Katuna gave.

RE: Washington DC

We stayed at Cherry Hill CG and drove to Mt. Vernon. The people at the Cherry Hill CG (which were always very helpful) can give you easy directions to Mt. Vernon. Do not take your RV as there is a low clearance bridge you will have to go under.

RE: Speaking of long marriages

It is truly inspiring to see so many long term marriages. But, as we all know and RV is no place to spend time and not get along with your spouse. We will be married 33 years this year but the big news is that we will be planning a surprise 65th Wedding Anniversay party for my parents in August. Wow!!!!

The Kingsland KOA and Country Oaks Campground are very close to one another. Both are nice CG's.

If you get to St. Mary's go to Aunt Bee's to eat (down from Wal Mart). Good food.
